About
QwertyRash (n): A skin affliction affecting the finger tips resulting from prolonged keyboard activity. Can also appear on the forehead of the afflicted in the format of deep imprints of the keyboard from sleeping on it.
QwertyRash is a blog expressing the thoughts and musings of me - Chris Howard - a keyboard junkie, on blogging, technology, humor, writing and more. As a refugee from the Windows world, the technology posts tend to revolve around the Apple world.
The afflicted also produces, Go Play AV, blog dedicated to rounding up the news and reviews on portable entertainment players - i.e. mp3 players, portable media and video players, portable game consoles, and portable dvd players.
I write a weekly column on Apple Matters.
Until May 2005, I’d been a computer nerd for many years, but was politely relieved of that station in life. Cast out, I found refuge in blogging, and before long I noticed this strange rash - like little letters on my fingertips - and thus QwertyRash, the blog, was born.

Someone called Red Smith once said- Writing is easy. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and open a vein.
Yet, it is very annoying to have finally onpened this vein and you have to stop to hang a load of washing and vaccume the house.
The curse of a writer is housework and stopping to cook tea.
So, when John P Marquand said- Nouns, verbs are the workhorses of language, did he have a housekeeper and a family to look after?
The hardest thing about writing is attending to your responsibilites first then turning off enough to find the same vein again.
[…] From way down–well way down for me–in Australia one of the blogosphere’s most under-acclaimed authors emerges. Chris Howard, blogger in question, is a self proclaimed “key board junkie.” Interestingly enough this is where his clever blog title gets its name. A QwertyRash is a skin affliction affecting the fingertips resulting from prolonged activity, according to the site’s about section. Regardless of this condition’s validity there is no question about how impressive Howard’s blog truly is. […]
