Adsense blind spots

Yesterday I spent much time tweaking and refining this site. One of the changes I made was to the header, which consists of two strips.

I decided to use the bottom of those strips for ads. Initially I set them up with a navy background to match the side bar. As I worked with it through the day, I felt my eye wasn’t catching it. My page naturally drew me to the first post.

Consequently I changed the background to white, to match the main content. I immediately noticed my eye was no longer missing the ads.

This is significant and I will play with on my other sites.

Basically, what my eyes are telling me, is that the ads they’re drawn most to, are those that match the content and are in the flow of the content.

Apple Insider provide a length analysis on the exciting possibility of Intel based Macs being launched at Mac World San Francisco.Apple Computer is on track to introduce the first Macs with Intel processors as early as January, which should help the company avoid any potential sales slow down in the first half of 2006 and appease concerns voiced by shareholders and industry-watchers, AppleInsider has learned.Although Apple has only committed to introducing the first Intel-based Macintosh systems by mid-2006, extremely reliable sources and a several-month-long investigation have revealed that January’s Macworld Expo in San Francisco is being primed as the launch-pad for at least one of the Mac maker’s next-generation Intel systems.Surprisingly, the most reliable information indicates that the iMac and PowerBook — two of the company’s most recently revised Mac offerings — are targeted to be the first two Mac models to receive Intel processors in January.

Should I buy Adobe Photoshop Elements yet?

I am going to buy Adobe Photoshop Elements for my Mac. Problem is, version 4 is out for Windows, and only 3 for Mac. I strongly suspect that Adobe are waiting for the first Intel based Macs to surface before the bring out version 4.
