Will Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows See Harry Killed?

Ah! So The journey is near its end. After a series running some 10 years or so, J K Rowling is about to draw the Harry Potter series to a close with the seventh and final book, intriguingly titled, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows being announced for release on 21st July 2007.

It isn’t a name that fits in with the other six books, all of which had mystical sounding names. This one sounds darker and more sinister. She has said someone dies (they do in every HP book), but she says someone we like. Will it be Harry himself? It’d be a great way to ensure she doesn’t get tied to writing anymore.. oh hang on… with so much magic about, someone will know a way to resurrect him.

Not being a big fan (could only get thru the first four books -it all became a bit sameish), I hope she does kill Harry. At least it will give me a reason to read it. But of course, good will prevail, and Valdemort will get his come-uppance, if indeed he still is the baddie by the end of that book.

Harry Potter 1 (i.e. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (or Sorcerer’s Stone in the US) is well worth the read. After that it’s up to you - they do get darker and more adult.

If you are interested in getting your mitts on the final Harry Potter, Amazon is taking pre-orders (sponsored link).
