Blog Tools - Bloglines lets me roam

Next month I will be away for a week - or maybe two - down the beach. The last thing I want happening is missing a key news story I should blog about because I am away from my computer. As much as I don’t enjoy working whilst holidaying, it is important for my blogs - especially Go Play AV - to keep in touch with developing news. Like, what if Apple release a new ipod at MacWorld Sans Francisco (which is strongly rumored). All the reviews will flow when I am away. Sure I can go into into an internet cafe and trawl the sites for reviews, but I am in the habit of using NetNewsWire news reader to aggregate my feeds.

Enter Bloglines I exported my feeds from NNW then imported them to Bloglines - which retained all my groups I’d set up in NetNewsWire.

Now there’s other services that offer online news aggregation - Feedster and Newsgator (who now own NetNewsWire) - but Bloglines is the one I found first that did what I wanted (I haven’t sussed out Newsgator).

So now I will be able to pop into an internet cafe, jump onto Bloglines, check my Reviews group, and then write any necessary posts.

Nice.
