Cricket: IPL Twenty20 fun but lacking
I’m really enjoying the IPL Twenty20 cricket in India at the moment. But I have a gnawing feeling of something missing.
Test cricket, the longer form of the game, and the pre-eminent form, allows the game to develop over days. It builds and enthralls.
Too much Twenty20 is like having dessert only at every meal. It sounds like a great idea, and tastes great, but before long you start to long for a complete meal.
I love my Twenty20, but I am looking forward to seeing Tests again.
