Vista Virus but Linux and Mac OS X still wait.
So, Vista is still in beta and the virus writers are hard at it. What caught my attention though, was a suggestion by Mikko Hyppönen, chief research officer with Helsinki’s F-Secure Corp that “These are proof of concept viruses,” he said, “Where virus writers want to break new ground and write the first viruses for a new platform.”
I don’t remember that happening for Linux or Mac OS X. Are they inherently more secure? Is it because they’re not monopolies?
Maybe both, but as I read somewhere, wouldn’t it be a fillip for a virus writer to write a virus for Linux or Mac OS X.
So one can only assume that it’s nigh on impossible.
