Writing: The Fall of Autumn Leaves
I’ve had some requests from readers to put more of my creative writing on here. So I’ll take the easy way out and start with a piece of poetry.

This piece came about when we had a poet workshop with us in one of my writing classes. We had about 10 minutes to write, but it wasn’t too hard because the idea had been swirling around in my head for a few days, so the concepts were there.
I’d be interested to see if people get it - I wasn’t trying to be too vague.
It is raw, by the way, this is as it was written, no editing.

The Fall of Autumn Leaves
Scents in memories
Leaves in genes
Echo dreams
Of time lost harmonies
Green and fresh and cool
Shade I lounge in
A tree’s respite
My summer friend
Rainbows dance in boughs
Instill, inspire and fire
Warms my soul and self
With their sun release
Curses muttered brown
Crunching fallen clogging
Children laugh and kick among
Adults mutter rake and burn
Memories distant jostle
Ancestral once of earth
Memories, legend and lore
Fallen leaves once a friend
