The guys at WordPress.org have rounded out the 2005 with a major upgrade to WordPress bringing a raft of enhancements and new features. To quote:

I’ve previously given a five-minute review of WordPress 2.0 beta and do believe this upgrade is well worth the effort for bloggers. But as the say backup first!

The real issue when reading Alsin’s 2001 article recommending ditching Apple, is that he was absolute in his advice. No one predicting the future can be absolute. Be skeptical of anyone giving absolute advice about the future.
